A beautifully carved and nicely proportioned vintage French oak dining table and chairs.

The table has a decoratively carved apron with crested centres on either side and end; the central table top is supplemented by two pull-out leaves which almost double the size of the table. Slightly narrower than other examples we've had. The leaves that slide out can be used together or one separately should you only want to expand on one end.

There are six rush seated chairs which have a very pretty design with the struts going vertically (rather than horizontally as is more common eg ladderbacks) The seats are designed to be drop-in so if required, it would be relatively affordable to replace these with upholstered seats at a later date. All of the chairs are solid and stable with generous proportions and are comfortable.

Condition: This set has been bought from a private seller and we have not carried out any repainting; there is wear to the paint on the top of the table as shown in the photos, mainly at either end. The leaves have not be used often so the paint is virtually unworn on these; there are however a couple of small areas of discolouration.

The rush on the seats shows wear but is totally stable and fit for purpose.
